Kids-A-Lot Extra Curricular Programs
(included in the cost of Tuition)
Yoga with Mrs. Krista and Music with Mr. Vic

As part of each family’s monthly tuition, Kids-A-Lot will be including Yoga and Music for all our classrooms. The session will take place within each classroom on the designated day and time that is established between KAL and Mrs. Krista (yoga instructor) and Mr. Vic (music instructor)

Yoga with Mrs. Krista

Krista Gordon, founder & educator for Tranquil Little One, is a certified Yoga teacher for children from 6 weeks old up to teenagers, a Reiki Practitioner & strategy partner for families looking to add movement and mindfulness into their everyday practice. As a mother of two children with Anxiety and Sensory Processing issues, she understands the need for having additional tools in your toolbox! She has made it her mission to empower children and their families to learn a variety of easy strategies to use at any time. By teaching specific yoga poses & flows, breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises, brain organization skills, and body/emotion check in’s, families learn valuable strategies while having fun! Krista currently brings yoga to children in wellness studios and schools either in group classes or one on one sessions. Students and families regularly mention the positive impact that Krista's work has on their lives and she is grateful to have the opportunity to work with each and every one of them.

Music with Mr.Vic

Kids-A-Lot is excited to have Mister Vic as part of the monthly tuition to our program. Mister Vic will hold music classes once a month for all age groups. He will rotate between our younger children one week and our older children another week. Mr. Vic is co-director and owner of Music Together®® of Assabet Valley. He has been teaching music to young children for over 25 years. He is known for his energy and enthusiasm and can be spotted around Maynard, Stow, Hudson, and Sudbury wearing his African pants. Mister Vic holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Behavior from Lesley College.

Field Trips

Field trips are part of the program. We believe that children can learn as much outside the classroom as they can inside the classroom. Children who do not want to attend the field trip will need to stay home for the duration of the outing and can arrive at Kids-A-Lot once the bus returns from the trip. Our staff will always request parental permission prior to all field trips.

Spanish

Spanish is offered as part of some of our classrooms' daily curriculum by our bilingual staff. Concept such as colors, shapes, counting, animals, manners and everyday words will be taught to the children through the use of songs, puppets and hands on materials.

Kids-A-Lot Additional Programs
(for an additional fee)

Kids-A-Lot proudly offers additional programs throughout the school year at a reasonable fee. These classes are the perfect option for the busy family, as they are offered here at the Center during your child’s school day. Programs typically run from October-June and provide the children with basic skills in a familiar setting. All Special Classes are supervised by Kid-A-Lot staff for the duration of the program. Space is limited, first come, first served basis. These optional classes will take place one day a week on a designated day and time that is established by KAL and the instructors. Classes will take place in our gross motor room for children ages 3 and older who are potty trained for our dance classes and children that are enrolled in our Toddler/Preschool, 3’s,4’s and 5’s classroom for our karate program. The classes will be for 30 min weekly.

Dance

Presented by On Your Toes Dance Studio

On Your Toes Dance and Theatre Company is proud to offer our Ballet/Creative Movement classes at KIDS-A-LOT this Fall! This class is separate from the monthly tuition and is held for ages 3 and up that are potty trained. Your child will receive the same quality dance education as students receive in our Acton studios. Our Ballet/Creative Movement class will start with circle stretches and coordination songs. Dancers will learn their ballet positions and primary ballet steps followed by fun CREATIVE MOVEMENT incorporating expressive songs and dances.

Karate

Presented by Borges Karate 3-5 years age

Three, four and five-year-olds love physical activity and anything involving play. They have a rich imagination and strong desire to be less dependent on their usual caregivers. The problem we discovered is that many children this age have a hard time with structure in a group environment like what is commonly found in most martial arts schools. The solution we found is to provide them with their own program that targets their stage of development in a manner that keeps them entertained while at the same time building skills that set them up for success. With that said, a structured program introducing early skill-based training in martial arts has proven to be very successful.

Donoma Summer Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are offered to children ages 3 and up that are potty trained and meet the swim height requirements of 36 inches. Space is limited to 24-30 children. Children and staff are bussed from Kids-A- Lot to Donoma Gymnastics located at 181 Great Road. Kids-A-Lot staff stay on the pool deck while the children are swimming. Three to Four certified swim instructors from Donoma are always in the pool with the children. Lesson are broken up into 3 or 4 groups based off age and ability. Sessions run for 30 min.
