wee people

Wee People (3+ Months)

Our babies or "Wee People" are our youngest group of children at Kids-A-Lot. In order to be eligible for this group, babies have to be at least three months of age.

We feel that this program is unique for its warmth and homelike atmosphere.

Keeping the number of children to seven, with two full-time and one part-time teacher for support, allows us to provide individual attention and quality loving care for this tender age. This program is provided by experienced Early Childhood Educators.

Listed below are items you will need to bring for your baby:

  • Diapers
  • Formula or Breast Milk and Bottles (all bottles should be labeled with your child's name.)
  • Baby Food (all jars of baby food should be labeled.)
  • All clothing, toys and individual possessions should be labeled.
  • Warm outdoor clothing in the Fall and Winter as we often bring them outside for walks when weather permits.
  • Appropriate seasonal clothing as we often take walks with their age group.

wandering minstrels

Wandering Minstrels (15-24 Months)

A step up in development are the 'Wandering Minstrels" - our young toddlers who are beginning to view their environment from a new perspective...on their feet!

This busy group of young children is just in the midst of their "firsts" (steps, words, and emotions). It is a fascinating group to watch since changes occur daily. An important aspect of providing quality care for this age is group size which for this program ranges from one to four students. Our young toddler teachers cooperatively work together to make this a smooth running room.

We provide a bright cheerful, indoor space full of developmentally appropriate climbing apparatus, toys and interesting play areas. We combine development activities with lots of time for exploration in which this group of children can learn and grow.

Listed below are items you will need to bring for your child:

  • Diapers
  • Lunch (including beverage)
  • Favorite security toy or blanket
  • Pacifier for naptime (if used)
  • Extra set of clothes
  • Appropriate seasonal clothing

lil dragons

Lil' Dragons (2 Years)

This group of children we fondly refer to as our "Lil Dragons". They are an enthusiastic group of children, who are eager to learn and explore. They spend most of their day trying to figure out how the world around them works!! "No" is now the strongest work in their vocabulary... but words are beginning to be pieced together to form short sentences.

A larger spacious classroom setting gives this age group a lot of room to explore. The number of children involved in this program is 13. The child to teacher ratio is 1-to-4, or 2-to-9 when they are broken up into two groups.

Listed below are items you will need to bring for your child:

  • Diapers (if used)
  • Lunch (including beverage)
  • Favorite security toy or blanket
  • Extra set of clothes
  • Appropriate seasonal clothing
  • Winter - hat, 2 pairs of mittens, boots, warm jacket
  • Spring - light jacket or sweater
  • Summer - bathing suit, towel, sunscreen

All clothing, toys and individual possessions should be labeled.

It is also a great benefit for children that are best matched with a smaller group ratio.
